Contributor License Agreement (CLA)¶
Thank you for your interest in contributing to PolyAPI. This Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") establishes the legal relationship between you (hereinafter "Contributor" or "You") and the PolyAPI project ("Project").
Terms¶
1. Grant of Copyright License¶
Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, You hereby grant to the Project and to recipients of software distributed by the Project a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute Your Contributions and such derivative works.
2. Grant of Patent License¶
Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, You hereby grant to the Project and to recipients of software distributed by the Project a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable (except as stated in this section) patent license to make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer Your Contributions, where such license applies only to those patent claims licensable by You that are necessarily infringed by Your Contributions alone or by combination of Your Contributions with the Project.
3. Representations¶
You represent that:
- You are the owner of or have the legal authority to submit the Contributions
- Your Contributions are entirely Your original work
- Your Contributions do not include any code, documentation, or other materials from third parties unless You have proper authorization
- You have the right to grant the rights under this Agreement
4. No Warranty¶
THE CONTRIBUTIONS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.
5. No Liability¶
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE PROJECT OR ITS CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONTRIBUTIONS OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE CONTRIBUTIONS.
6. Copyright Notice¶
You agree to include a notice in each Contribution stating: "This contribution is provided under the terms of the MIT License."
How to Sign¶
By making a contribution to this Project, You agree to the terms of this Agreement. The act of submitting a pull request, patch, or other form of contribution to the Project constitutes Your agreement to be bound by this Agreement.
Acceptance¶
Your submission of a Contribution to the Project constitutes Your acceptance of this Agreement. If You have not already done so, please sign and return this Agreement. Your signature (digital or electronic) on any legal agreement related to Your Contributions shall be considered valid and binding.
